Our Top 10 Tips for all brides who want to look naturally beautiful on their special day

  1. Without good skin you're in trouble - it's up to you to invest in the best products for your skin that you can afford and to start a proper skin care ritual at the earliest opportunity. We recommend Primavera, a totally natural 100% organic anti-ageing skincare range that is incredibly gentle on the skin and offers tangible effects for all skin types. Personally, I am amazed by how effective, invigorating and light these Primavera products, which I enjoy using everyday as part of my own natural anti-ageing skincare routine.
  2. Do not wear too much foundation or concealer, especially if you have problem skin. Mineral make up blends flawlessly into skin giving you the look and feel of bare skin, while covering problem areas like blemishes, under-eye circles and age spots. If you have sensitive skin or acne prone skin, mineral make up does not have any artificial fragrances, color and preservatives that would irritate skin. Mineral make up also offers natural, broad-spectrum sun protection (SPF 15). I personally use mineral makeup and would recommend it to anyone who wants to achieve a more natural look without heavy make-up application.
  3. Do not wear the wrong shade of foundation for your skin tone.
  4. Do not wear deep coloured bronzer, especially if your skin is too pale to be tanned. But don't go overboard with the self-tan either - for a natural smooth appearance, start a few weeks before your wedding to build the colour slowly, aiming for a sunkissed look rather than deep tropical bronze.
  5. Too much shine is unflattering - powder is a must. Matte skin always appears more flawless in photographs. Excessive use of illuminator catches the light unevenly and can make your skin look lumpy in photographs even if you think it looks pretty in the flesh.
  6. Do not apply blush so that it leaves visible streaks - less is more; apply carefully and blend well. If it appears too intense the effect can be softened by layering loose translucent powder on top.
  7. Do not use a lip liner that's darker than your lipstick colour. Unless you always wear a dark lip colour, choose a soft pretty lipstick that looks natural but still defines the lips. Do not apply too much lipgloss on top - just a dab on the centre of the bottom lip will give you all of the shine without any of the gloop or dreaded 'bleed'.
  8. Do not over-tweeze your brows - it's always best to stick with your natural brow shape, gently filling in any gaps and adding definition with a brow pencil or shadow that matches their natural colour.
  9. Waterproof mascara is essential; make sure you curl your lashes for maximum impact.
  10. Remember makeup does not have to match your dress or flowers it has to flatter you - choose makeup colours that are in harmony with your natural skin tone, eyes and hair colouring to achieve a happy glow.
