The Wedding of Sarah and Graham

Publication Date: Tue 19 May 2009 - 02:06

Congratulations to Sara and Graeme, who were married on a very wet and windy Saturday 16th May at The Carriage Hall in Nottinghamshire. We braved the weather briefly to capture some outdoor shots and as the storm clouds grew heavier and the heavens opened we returned to the indoors to warm up. Sara looked stunning in her Chandrika Thomas designer silk gown and she looks every inch the gorgeous bride in her full length photograph looking out over the balcony.
I created for Sara an elegant bridal makeup look, focusing on a matte but naturally radiant finish.  Her blonde hair with golden highlights, blue eyes and medium skin tone were best complimented by cool shimmering shades of nude, dark brown and champagne eye shadow. For a true ‘blushing bride’ effect I used two shades of blusher; a subtle rosewood colour along the cheek bones and a soft pink just on the ‘apples’ of her cheeks. Sara beautacious lips looked even more luscious with an application of pale red lipstick finished off with a shimmering nude lip gloss. Fabulous!
The groom and his ushers were tartan clad and Graeme’s knitted socks were his nan’s handiwork, made especially for the big day! The importance of family and personal touches showed throughout the day, as Sara’s something old and blue was her treasured sapphire engagement ring; a family heirloom on Graeme’s side.
Despite the weather spirits were high and it was the registrar that said “when it rains on the wedding day, some say it’s the gods smiling on the marriage”. Wishing Sara and Graeme a happy honeymoon in their beloved Scotland.
